È arrivato il momento di aggiornare come sono andate le prime due settimane delle nostre attività didattiche all’Old Stable, dopo una pausa così lunga. Ora abbiamo anche un orario preciso per i nostri corsi e un annuncio da fare in merito a una nuova classe per studenti delle scuole superiori che inizierà QUESTO martedì (18/10/2022) alle 17:00.
Quest’anno personalmente ho un programma piuttosto fitto, ma con un’interessante varietà di corsi di inglese. È il secondo anno che insegno all’Accademia Militare di Modena. L’anno scorso ho insegnato cadetti dei Carabinieri ma quest’anno sono stato spostato a lavorare con cadetti del primo e del secondo anno nelle Forze Armate. Da ex militare in servizio obbligatorio, questa è un’esperienza divertente ed emozionante, piena di flashback, ricordi e confronti che mi attraversano la mente, a volte in momenti inaspettati. I cadetti sono molto motivati e disciplinati, quindi è un ottimo posto per praticare approcci di apprendimento basati su progetti e generalmente svolgere attività sperimentali. Siamo entrati anche nel prestigioso Coleggio di San Carlo per insegnare comunicazione della scienza in ambito accademico. È la prima settimana, quindi siamo tutti pieni di eccitazione, ma sembra già che sarà un’esperienza molto gratificante.
Per quanto riguarda i nostri corsi in loco, siamo stati così felici di vedere molti volti nuovi al nostro Open Day del 1° ottobre e di iniziare subito con una gamma di corsi dai più piccoli agli adulti. Abbiamo ancora posti per bambini dai 6 ai 10 anni il lunedì dalle 18:00 alle 19:00 e per i più piccoli e i loro genitori il mercoledì. Domani apriamo un nuovo corso per i frequentanti delle scuole superiori quindi spargi la voce! Sarà sicuramente divertente. ora… in Inglese:
It’s time to update how the first two weeks of our teaching activities at the Old Stable went, after such a long break. We also have now a definite timetable for our courses and an announcement to make regarding a new class for High School students starting THIS Tuesday (18/10/2022) at 17:00.
This year I personally have quite a busy schedule but with an exciting variety of English courses. It’s the second year I’m teaching in the Military Academy of Modena. Last year I taught a cohort of Carabinieri cadets but this year I’ve been moved to work with first year and second year cadets in the Armed forces. As an ex-soldier in compulsory service, this is both a funny and exciting experience full of flashbacks, memories and comparisons that run through my mind, sometimes at unexpected times. The cadets are very motivated and disciplined so it’s a great place to practice project-based learning approaches and generally run experimental activities. We have also entered the prestigious Coleggio di San Carlo to teach science communication in an academic context. It’s the first week so we are all full of excitement, but it already looks like it’s going to be a very rewarding experience.
As for our own, onsite courses, we were so happy to see many new faces on our Open Day on the 1st of October and to start straight away with a range of courses from the early ages to adults. We still have places for children 6-10 on Mondays 18:00-19:00 as well as for toddlers and their parents on Wednesdays. Tomorrow we are opening a new course for high school attenders so spread the word! It’s surely going to be fun.
